Cancellation of the Ladies Open Lausanne 2020

Entrée Ladies Open Lausanne

The WTA has decided, due to the current crisis, to give up the organization of the rest of the professional tennis season until the end of July. The Ladies Open Lausanne is therefore affected by this decision. The tournament, which was scheduled to take place from July 11 to 19, is therefore cancelled. On April 29, the Federal Council had already decided to ban events with more than 1,000 people until the end of August.

The tournament management regrets that Swiss tennis fans will not be able to see the WTA stars in Lausanne this summer. However, we fully understand the decisions of the WTA and the Federal Council. The health of the population, the spectators, the players and all those who participate in the tournament is an absolute priority.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors and partners for their support during this difficult time. At the same time, we express our solidarity and sympathy to the athletes who cannot continue their work due to the Coronavirus crisis, as well as to all those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide and to all the relatives of the victims.
